Wireless Instructions – Faculty & Staff
Faculty and staff will communicate with the AP
(Access Point) using a wireless network adapter/card similar in
function to a traditional Ethernet adapter. A SSID (Service Set Identifier),
which is typically referred to as a network name, identifies a WLAN.
USC’s WLAN has a faculty/staff SSID configured on all wireless APs.
Faculty and staff must have their wireless network card configured and
setup to use their SSID. This SSID can be obtained via
Visual Information Processing “VIP”
and click Technology). Once the wireless network card has been configured
and setup, the SSID will be used to associate with an AP on the
WLAN.
