The first 30 minutes or less is for announcements. The rest
of the hour will be dedicated to a presentation. This
meeting should last 1 hour or less.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
-
The early registration deadline is October 22 for the
LISA 2004 conference
being held in Atlanta, November 14-19.
A discount
is available for organizations sending 5 or more people:
I know of 4 at this point, so please contact
Ken Sallenger
or Rita Anderson
if you have an interest in attending.
From the SAGE Web site:
LISA 2004
arrangements are almost complete. The papers are submitted
and typeset; Keynoter Howard Ginsberg from CNN is readying
his talk on digitizing the entire daily processing of all
news on CNN. A fully redundant 2 x 20TB server forms the
storage basis; you'll surely want to hear about the rest.
As many as four
parallel tracks should keep everyone busy seeing refereed papers,
invited talks, special topics, and 'Guru-Is-In' sessions.
Training
is offered every day of the conference, Sunday through Friday. Hear
the experts who work in the trenches explain how it's done.
Scheduled for Sunday, November 14 through Friday, November 19 in
Atlanta, GA, LISA 2004 is a must-see conference for all sorts
of computer administrators.
- Please send nominations for the Chair for 2005
to Ken.

an enterprise directory and unified email/calendaring system.
