ICPSR Support Services is a service provided by Computer Services.

USC's membership in the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) is administered by Academic Services. Data files and accompanying documentation in the ICPSR archives are available free to all USC faculty, staff, and students. Our services include:

Selection of storage media
Identification of suitable software
Reformatting or subsetting of the data
Programming
Computer Training in SAS and SPSS
SAS and SPSS support

ICPSR data files and accompanying documentation are accessible at the ICPSR home page at the University of Michigan.  They can be downloaded to any workstation in the University of South Carolina's domain (129.252) using ICPSR's Direct Access procedures for USC.

To find out what data sets we already have at USC, please look at our local holdings.  Data files are archived locally on MVS mainframe tapes or disks. The codebooks for our data sets that are not available in electronic form are located at Academic Services, third floor at Computer Services.

If you need assistance in downloading data files and/or codebooks from the ICPSR archives, place a request with the ICPSR Official Representative for USC.
